Island Bound
Finally pictures! Yesterday on my way to the crew beach on castaway key, I was able to get a few snap shots of the floating juggernaut that I live on. And yes, it is as big as it looks. Along side it was the infamous “Flying Dutchman” from the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean 2”. I don’t suppose they are using it for the new movie as that it has been parked there for quite some time, though I might be wrong.
The crew beach that Disney provides us is not too shabby, it has a barbecue running much of the day, plenty of hammocks and beach chairs, a volleyball beach and everything else a person could need. I caught sight of my first sting ray while combing the shore line in search of unique shells. I’ve been told there are all kinds of odd life in the waters that surround, I might see if I can get somebody to snorkel with me next time. It feels weird coming into winter sweating to death on a beach. Last night I finally got tired of the night after night parties. It’s like being at university again; long days and late nights. After a single drink with Liz, I went back to my cabin and went to bed.
Today was not the best days. To be honest; I think the lack of communication with friends back home is starting to get to me. Don’t get me wrong, my friends on the ship are great, but there is a closeness that can only be achieved over years. I miss George, Thump and Orwin. Work continues to push me with what would in most cases should be divided up among 3 people. I think I can handle it, but the question is how long before is wears me out.
